This model was quarter scale in size and made out of chipboard. Slits were made on the edges to bend the chipboard into small tubes. I was very pleased in the way the design of this bird house was inspired by different forms of the banana tree. The cuts in each section of the bird house resemble the shape of the banana and add light inside for the bird. The cuts in the perches in between the sections resemble the leaf of a banana tree. From the top view, the staggering of the leaves resemble the pattern found inside the stalk of a banana tree.
